Historical seminar ZRC SAZU

The Historical Seminar of the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (ZRC SAZU) is an international multidisciplinary public lecture series that has been taking place since 1992. The aim is to present new, original and current scientific findings and achievements in various fields, especially in the humanities and social sciences.

The lectures are typically held once a month, from September to June. The Coordinating Committee oversees the organisation of the seminars. Both national and international speakers are invited, including established scholars and younger researchers. The lectures are aimed at a wider specialist audience and also serve to facilitate and strengthen links between domestic and international experts and researchers.

Since 1994, the monographic series Historical Seminar has also been published, containing selected and adapted texts from the lectures. The articles hold an appropriate scientific apparatus. The publication is released every two years, and since 2008 it has also been available in open- access format. The primary goal is to present the most significant and up-to-date research findings to a broader specialist audience as well as the interested public.
